Plasticon Projects has successfully completed the construction of a large FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) DeNOx scrubber at Tata Steel IJmuiden. Project Execution and Challenges
The DeNOx scrubber, with its massive 12.5-meter diameter, presented unique engineering and logistical challenges. Due to its size, traditional transportation methods were not viable. Plasticon Projects opted for on-site construction, employing its advanced mobile winding machines to fabricate the scrubber directly at Tata Steel IJmuiden. This approach ensured the structural integrity of the installation while also optimizing efficiency and minimizing potential transportation-related risks.
